okay , i searched high and low, all over this sight , so here goes,,

i have a 96 xl, and it does not have factory fog lights , but the plug ins are under the front bumper,, what all will it ake to get the wiring harness to these plugs working so that i can hook up a pair to them , or use them for my fire fighters flashers,,
the flashers are low wattage, less than a fog light, ,
it would be nice to be able to have no more wires to run,
:cool::cool::cool:

Is there power to the plugs?

If not, check the fuse)s) for factory fog lights.

Good luck ....

there isn't even a switch , i was wondering about that , if the wires are all there just not used, ???

The switch on my 95 is on the right hand side of the radio. From top to bottom there are three switches. Rear window wiper/washer, rear window defogger and the fog light switch on the bottom of the three.

You don't have that? What is there?

the switch is probably behind the trim piece or at least the wiring for it
ford wired up everything but didn't use all the parts of the wiring harness
so its probably there u just need to look for it

that is was what i was wondering, i thought they put all the wiring in at the factory and than the options just dictated what was used.

i saw it once before, but wasn't sure if it was the same in my Ex,. ,

I thought of the same idea in my '97, saw the plugs. After tracing the plugs though, The wiring does go under the das, and follows to behind the radio.

You need the trim piece for the switch, it will have a switch under the rear defrost button and would snap right on to the wiring harness.

Unless you have the valence up front that has the holes cut out for ther lights, it'll look crappy.

I just went aftermarket for everything, wasn't worth the trouble as the fogs are switched to your headlights anyhow.

okay , in will check that out on the weekend,,
i want to do that tomorrow, but i have to burn down a house , fire training can be fun,, lol
