Factory GPS antenna adapter to aftermarket deck

Has anyone tried an adapter like the one in this ebay listing for connecting the factory GPS antenna to an aftermarket deck? I recently installed a Kenwood dnx573s in my 2008 Mountaineer and it has been on my mind since it went in, which is less than a week, but I really would like to find an adapter to utilize the factory gps antenna if possible.

for anyone who was curious this adapter did work for utilizing the factory gps antenna rather than installing the aftermarket antenna that came with the radio.
