Hey guys I have a 98 explorer with a factory cd player with preium sound. I don't want to change the factory radio but was wondering if it was worth changing the factory speakers, to pioneers.

i think it would be a noticable improvement in sound quality.

I agree with leenjen. I replaced my factory speakers in my Ranger and my Explorer (Boston Acoustics and Infinity) and it makes a noticable difference. I didn't have them on the factory head units for very long, but it did sound better. Go for it.

Yeah, I got new speakers on my factory unit first... pretty cool. I think most pioneer speakers are pretty effecient too, so you should be able to bump a little bit more. :)

Replacement of the factory speakers should offer better sound quality. I believe the factory amp provides around 40watts to each speaker, but could be wrong. Keep that in mind when selecting speakers.
