Does anybody have a picture of this with the wires connected? I replaced my positive cable and ever since i am getting a grind when I start it. Last night I pulled the starter and had it tested and it was fine. Put it back in and started it and the starter won't disengage. Any and all help would be appreciated.

how come you have all the wires on one post. On mine i have 2 grounds and the thick red on one and just a thin red on the other. Is this the way it should be? After i put the starter back in I switched them. I put one red and one ground on each post. Now it won't disengage.

When i switched mine out thats how they came off.So thats how i put them back on.

One of my 1993 parts trucks (E.B.) has all of the connections, except for the small red wire, attached to the closest lug to the battery also. ***The small red wire is attached to the rear lug on the solenoid.*** The "solenoid actuating wire" is pushed onto the small top lug (as with all Fords I have seen and / or worked on).
It's a little too dark to snap and send you pictures of the 4 Explorers I have here. I would bet they are the same, or close to what is in the picture.
Even though something might not look right you have to always remember to put things back where they came from. If you don't think you'll remember be sure to take good notes and / or mark everything with different colored parts markers, nail polish, or something like that.
Did you swap everything back, and did it work? Remember, just because the part is NEW doesn't mean it will work properly. I have gotten defective new parts before.

You'll note in his pic, that he is using the factory harness... due to its shape, it's nearly impossible for him to put the wires on "wrong" without it looking all jacked up. So yes, his is correct (mine also matches that exactly :D )
