Few questions 5.0 AWD

I have a 99 mercury mountaineer 5.0 AWD. About 160k miles. recently my air intake had gotten really really loud. Any ideas on why? Also back passenger door lock will not unlock when i push the unlock button sometimes i have to either push several times or hold the lock up and try to open the door from the outside and i eventually get it open. any ideas?

When did you changed last the air filter?
For the door - probably the internal door handle has broken parts (has some plastic gears).

I have a cone filter its clean but never been thus loud. But just a few minutes ago I was drivin and hit a lil bump and the hissin air noise jus suddenly went away and back to normal. What the hell? Lol

Take off the door panel and look for small broken plastic pieces, then good luck. you may have to take out the locking mech to fix it. I have a similar problem, I am waiting until winter is gone to attempt to fix it.

Sounds like something is loose on the intake hose. Check the fittings and stuff, and check the cone and hose for cracks/holes/splits...
