I have 2 trans issues

1) every so often it hesitates shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but only when going slow (like around my neighborhood)

2) Sometimes When i'm at like 75% throttle and if goes to shift into third and I have to let off the gas, I hear a squeel/squeek. Should I be worried?

No hard shifts, no codes, no issues shifting in/out of park/reverse/drive.

Had servos and bands repaired at 60K, now I'm at 66,500.

should I be worried about this?

I had a noise too, on the 2/3 shift more like a whizzing noise for a sec or two, well two weeks later something popped, no third gear, no reverse, flashing o/d light, check trans, service engine soon lights all came on kind of looked like Christmas tree, anyways, just talked to the trans guy who just finished a complete rebuild, some snap ring holding the planetary broke causing it to machine out the planetary drum . . . .i'm going to pick it up this afternoon . . if I find out anything else ill let you know. I post more detail in the trans section, mine had a P0733 code, no reverse, no third gear when it failed. Hopefully this isn’t your case.

Another thing I thought it was the belt. Is you A/C on? test it - Turn it of and see if it continues, my belt squeaks when the A/C comes on any gear but it makes a chirp and I was looking to replace it before the trans went.

actually it is like a chirp. And come to think of it, it does sound like just a squeeking accessory belt. Because on cold starts in the morning i hear a very low pitch belt whine for about 2 seconds.

It happens w/ AC on or off, only under High throttle and if I have to let go right before a shift.

i'd replace the belt and cross your fingers . . .

The chirp noise is related to TSB 05-17-8... It is not a cheap fix if a dealership does it... I now have over 75K on my 05 explorer and it has caused no problem (except chirp) so I will have it fixed if (or when) the A/C goes out...

guess i'm gonna ride it out....won't be using the a/c anytime soon anyway lol.
