Fine windshield scratches

Anyone got any ideas on removing the fine swirls out of the windshield that show up there? My stock glass out my 99 didn't have the swirls in it to any extent, but this 01's brand new windshield, put in right before I bought it, does.

I have seen kits, like from Eastwood for example, to polish glass.

I just wonder if they visually distort the view after using them...

No idea, I've been wondering about it, which really, the factory glass in the 99 was clear, up until it became a couple hundred pieces, this one is brand new practically and doesn't look it.
