I came across a K&N FIPK type kit for the 1st gen X's on ebay. Looks more complete than the KKM option and cheaper than trying to retro-fit a K&N set up for the 2nd gen X's. Take a look and tell me what you think. Does anyone on the forum have one of these, or interested.
It looks like it could be easily made. Pep Boys sells intake tubing, just need to know what pieces.

They also have a tube kit to utilize the factory airbox for cold air instead of drawing air from under the hood.
I thought the Ranger/Explorer 4.0L was identical. My fathers 93 Ranger and my 91 X look the same, maybe I need to look closer.
