The wife and I just took our 99 4 door (SOHC) 4WD Ex on it's first long road trip to Georgia from Northern Virginia. It was a tad over 500miles one way and going down we averaged 19-20MPG with it pretty well loaded down. It was also snowing pretty heavily for some of the trip so with traffic we were on and off the accelerator a good bit.

On the way back I stayed around 75mph for the most part and got right around 22mpg with no stopping except for gas.

Overall, I am pretty happy with it. Nothing has been done except for swisscheese air box and new paper filter and fresh Castrol 5W30 Syntec.

It really needs new plugs and plug wires so I'm sure that will help. It is soon to get a K&N and a new muffler as well.

Does this seem about right/normal? with the exception of Aldive of course...

I'm sure the new plugs and high flow muffler will help here too.
