- 1988 bronco ll xlt
Hi
I just purchased a 1988 Bronco ll 4X4 2.9 V6 5spd. It is not pretty so no pics. It has 174957 on the clock and really needs some work. It ran really bad and would not clear emissions in over 18 months so it sat in a driveway. All it needed was a plug wire ( burned on the exhaust manifold) and a fuel pressure regulator (dumping gas right into the intake). Emission levels even shocked the tester. But he got me on the gas cap...ARGGGHHHH. I have a lot of wiring to repair but it gets me 42 miles each way to work and back. It runs a little warm especially in the 110 temps here but at 80mph it is smooth as silk. I never would have thought this truck could run with the big dogs at 80 on the long stretches of roads here. I am really getting to like this truck!! Maybe Ill even bother to get the radio working properly. Oh the A/C is ice cold, much needed here in the daytime.
