Fix it or not

My 96 Explorer Limited went down with the diagnosis that the bolts that hold the flex plate to the crank broke or came loose. Cost to repair about $400.

The question is should I fix it or swap parts to my 95? leather etc. The big thing is that we have enough vehicles for all the drivers in our house. 3 drivers 3 drivers. the problem is my 95 Explorer is my off roader and I need to get it from my oldest son when I want to use or work on it. The limited was being used by my son till it went down.
The Limited is totally loaded, leather, moonroof, power everything

The cost would be lower if you do the work yourself.

buy your parts in winter an fix it in the spring

You could get a portable car tent, and use a small space heater inside.

Just spend the money, $400 isn't to bad, it would be a pain in the butt to switch everything over to the 95 anyway
