I was having trouble putting fuel in my 1999 Ranger. I removed the purge and canister vent valves and tested them on the bench. Blew through the tank vent line at the canister to fuel tank. Finally I thought of restriction in fuel filler hose. No kinks. Using a long neck camera, about a foot down the filler hose was a screen. It looked like pieces of rust and paint flakes from inside the filler tube. I rapped a rag strip on some mechanical fingers, dipped tip in wheel bearing grease and went fishing for the trash. After dipping and cleaning about a dozen times, I got it pretty clean. The tank took fuel real fast. Before this I would clean one item, then run and try to fill. Finally it worked. Didn’t think I should use a vacuum cleaner because of the sparks. Hope this helps somebody.
