A Few posts back, I let you all know i did the brown wire mod in my 02 xlt V8.
WHAT AND AWESOME DIFFERENCE, everyone with a Gen 3 should do it! Again, I want to thank the person who has the UOW Edition, great pictures and great idea with the LED lighted switch. works fantastic. anywho.... after i got done with this mod.... the classic check gauge just came on for no oil pressure gauge...i figured it was the sensor, since they all go bad...so anywho..i crawl underneath and check it out, and notice that the wire from the harness pulled off the sensor... EASY FIX...right...so i thought, so i ran new wire..made it long..and reattached it to the sensor...still nothing...disconnected the battery..waited...nothing..so then i keep looking up top...and noticed there was wire the same white/red combo..as i found underneath..near the sensor. I ended up discovering..that was the problem...( the pulled off wire)...but it looks as though someone ran a bypass wire from the orginal.... I was wondering if ford released a service bulletin on this..and i just never heard of it?>??? anywho..it works now ..and its runnning great...and like i said..the push button 4x4...PART TIME..works great...justin time for hunting season in western pa soon..!!
