My '96 X has close to 100k on the clock, and I just replaced the multi-function switch May 29, 2003. I'm ready to order another switch since my high-beam headlights are out. I've tried a new set of bulbs, but no luck.

Is this uncommon for the switch to go bad in such a short time? I'm used to these kind of electrical problems on my Jaguar, which uses a lot of Lucas Electric parts (aka English Junk!!!).

Thanks :)

I also got tired of replacing multifunction switches annually so I wired relays in between the lights and the multifunction switch to reduce the heat and the amp load on the switch and 5 years later i havent bought any more switches. this was a common problem in my mustang, wifes lincoln, and companys f150. I think ford needs to use relays from the factory.
