Flashing 4x4 High&Low, Feels like driving on rumble strips

My 95 explorer is a POS. Current problem is it flashes my 4x4 lights and shakes similar to driving on a rumble strip. No idea on what the problem might be.

First, is it a 95 Explorer or an '05 Sport Trac?

Is the shaking on flat pavement?

have you cycled the system from 4x to 2x? it sounds as if it's not completely meshed in, and is throwing a code by flashing the light.

Its my wifes 95 explorer. I drive the 05 sport trac.

Ive tried using the 4x4, it does nothing.

It does it on any surface. PA roads are the smoothest but itll do it flat bumpy up or down hill.

I did find and replace a sway bar link, prob broke from the vibration.

Also the CV axle was broken, got tthe part ordered and hoping itll fix it.

It sounnds like same problem i had on my 95. Took it to transmission shop and mechanic showed me inside the transfer case is a metal arm that moves back and forth when you shift in and out of gear assuming this is a automatic trans.the arm wears the alluminum housing out where it is suppose to stop. he had a used transfer case housing in better shape than mine,no more vibrations but lights still flash. will not cause a problem been driveing like this for three years now with no incidents. Hope this helps.
