I see how to hook it up to a dvd player, but how do you get sound from it? Does it broadcast through a low radio station like 88.7fm? or something? I think a screen would be cool, and i wanna know what needs to be done to get sound to play? or maybe im just missing something.

Anyone have any explerience with these type of things?

take the audio signal straight from the dvd player into your system not through the screen

Sound is independent from the monitor. You run audio cables from the DVD/VCR/etc (player) to your aftermarket head unit or through an FM modulator to your stock stereo.

Whats an FM modulator?

Transmits the sound to an FM radio station I believe.

Yes, with that DVD/mod combo and the monitor you've got picture and audio.

That's just one way to do it. Not the best for quality, but pretty darn easy.
