Ok, Since i still have in issue with caster camber correction that i cant fiz, i was reading a 4wheeler magazine and saw flipped balljoints. I searched but didnt find anything. Anyways heres the Question.

If i flip my lower balljoints, would that raise my spindle a little bit to help the so that the upper CA could be aligned?

It doesnt seem like it hurt anything. its just be upside down. I dunno though. I asked Boomin but hes at school. thanks

If your gonna take it out--replace it.

How do you propose to flip them? They only mount one way. Or do you mean flipping the entire control arm?

flip ball joints as in press them in upside down and put the knuckle on the wrong way? that doesnt make any sense? try it, take pictures, and tell us what it does hah

For any bj flip you gotta do reinforcing.

Just put the Ball joint in upside down. and put the spindle on top of the lower CA. Thats it. Ill try it, and i know to replace them. Just a thought cuz some guy did it on his weird ****, i dunno what its called, i left the magazine at work.

If you fllip the lower balljoint, all the weight is going to go on the little snap ring, which will hold for about 2 seconds.

Actually, it wont. The reataining clip will be on the bottom instead of the top.The way it is now, theres more wieght on the clip than the way i would do it. so technically, the balljoint would push right back trhough. i am still doing some reasearch tho.

Yeah, exactly, the clip is going to be on the bottom. The weight of the truck pushes all the weight downward. In it's original position the balljoint housing has a lip which is where the weight is put on. The clip is only there to prevent the balljoint from "slipping" out of the hole, no weight is put on it.

ok, thanks for clarifying, i thought you were talking about the retaining clip not the lip.

Yeah, I'm saying if you flip the bj the clip is gonna be supporting the weight.

Someone did it on an ex recently, but they had to do alot of work to get everything functioning properly, they used another type of balljoint I think also.

edit again: It was a whole spindle flip they did, and it was to lower the ex, so uh ignore that other comment.

edit: Pictures to the rescue (I'm bored)
