I dont really know a whole lot about mufflers, but im just wondering whats the difference between getting a "dual inlet/dual outlet"...vesus "dual in/single out"...or heck...a "single in/dual out"? ..After hearing X24's 50's, i REALLY want that sound. Sorry for my ignorance. If anyone could help me out..THANK YOU.

Well, its just that. dual in/out has dual inlets, and dual outlets. dual in/single out will have dual inlets, and one larger single outlet. The muffler X24 has will allow you to keep a true dual exhaust while using a single muffler.

I see, but im just curious if having single or dual has any differences, sound or performance wise? I wonder why people choose to put dual in/single out, single in/out, dual in/dual out? i guess im really asking, Does it all matter that much? or is it all preference? Seems to me its just complimenting a stock mufflers original fit to make things easier to put on.

I just got a dual inlet single out let 50 series flowmaster muffler on my 1998 XLT 4.0 SOHC. it was 2.25" in 3" out which was reduced to 2.5" to keep the backpressure at a decent level. Sounds awesome I love it.
Dual outs are more tricky to bend some shops wont do it other will, and price will vary. Any good shop can do it. I didnt want duals, im happy with what I got
