Okay, a few months ago I tried installing a Cherrybomb Turbo Muffler, sounds okay, but since I installed it the gas mileage has plummeted, but sounds okay at low rpms...

When I connected the rest of the piping (from the muffler back), it sounded HORRIBLE! Sounded like a swarm of bumblebee's when i put it back on... So instead of having that, I took it off, and left a 10" extension piece on it.

Now, I've saved up again since then, and I'm going to do it right:

New Exhaust

The above link is what I'll be ordering sometime within the next two weeks... Hopefully... As long as I get paid back from a few people that owe me, it'll be a mean sounding X.

Now for a few questions to those that might have these...

The kit comes with clamps for installation, but are clamps okay? Or should I weld it? I have access to a welder if need be, but I want the best possible performance/sound gain I can...

Clamps are OK but I would recommend welding it if you can. Welded exhaust is more solid and less likely to develop leaks, etc.

what would the best type of welder to use? i'm not sure what the exact names are, but my friend has a 'tig welder' (?) and the kind with the oxygen/acetylene tanks (kind where two gas meet, and you light um up and set the temperature to your liking)

(sorry if those aren't right)

or as long as it's a sealed weld?

Im sure someone on here knows. I took mine to an muffler shop and had them weld it for around $30.

mig would be best and easiest. tig will work as well. if i were you id use clamps to get it together then decide if you like the sound first. you can pull it apart and sell it at that point if you want.

josh did u get them installed yet and if u did u going to post a sound clip of them or what

he just posted that yesterday.

I will be getting them as soon as my financial aid refund check comes in. lol. I love it, get financial aid, buy books, buy exhaust with leftover stuff...

I'm gonna talk to a buddy of mine who has a REALLY! nice digital camera, and get him to do a few clips of before/after sounds. I'm thinking I might just use the clamps that are included with it, in case i don't like the sound like someone suggested earlier.. and weld it later on....

get it on a.s.a.p.!

Okay, time for a quick update. I'll be getting the money probably early next week, and as soon as I have that, I'll be ordering the exhaust. Hopefully by the end of January I'll have some videos up of the exhaust before, and exhaust after.
