I am at my wits end!

My radio worked fine. No issues. Next day got in car and radio was dead. No lights, no sound.

I bought a new radio XO Vision brand.

I bought a Schoshe wiring kit and wired it up according the instructions.

I have power. There are lights and everything but no sound. No static. Nothing.

Someone please help.

There are posts about the amp...not sure if i have one. Mine is the 97 explorer that had the 6cd changer in the console.

There is a blue wire left over and the orange one. (orange is for illumination so i assume i dont need this.)

What am I missing?

The blue wire is the power for the amp.

Yes, I did the same thing anf you need the blue wire hooked up to power the amp or your speakers will not play

Um, the blue wire is NOT the amp power wire.
The blue wire is the remote turn on wire for the amp. It tells the amp to turn on when the radio in the front is on.
Do not hook up the blue wire to amp 'power' as the two people above have said.
There should be a blue or blue/white wire in your dash that serves as a remote turn on that runs to the amp. Maybe the harness you bought doesn't have it. If that's the case, just tap into the original wire.

so, am i powering the blue/white wire to the new harness? what am i hooking together?

There should be a blue wire on the factory harness. Hook it up to the blue or blue/white wire that comes from the radio.
Remote turn on wire is almost always blue.
