i am still new to my ex(have had for 18mths) and i just found out that my truck still hasnt had the speed control deactivation switch replaced and i was just wanting to know if there are any other recalls for the 95 ex xlt, and yes before i get a reply i have done a search for my vin on ford.com and it did not even show this recall. i am taking my truck in the morning to get that fixed. i need to know what else could i look for as to why my cruise control is not working. when i first got the ex the cruise control did work but then a few months after purchase it would take a while to turn it on and when it did it wouldnt stay on and now it just doesnt work at all. i dont have any lights flashing and all fuses are good(tested not just looked at) and my horn works any help appreciated!!

I dont think the CC recall applies to pre 98 explorers, because there is no voltage at the switch when the key is off.

Your ex may have a sway bar link recall, if its not in the system the previous owner may have done it.

Your dealer is your best bet for that.

ford does not list it being on a recall list but i called ford about it and they said they will not charge for the replacement of this part and will take about 20mins to complete

better safe than sorry as i say

and thanks brooklyn for the links i got more than one use out of them already

and you are correct about the sway bar recall

there is also recalls for pass. airbag inflator body, inner tie rod assemblies, and rear liftgate supports

Recalls are very important, even if they seem like an insignificant part. I always check at the time of purchase with a dealer and the internet, and have them done ASAP. I'm surprised the DMV doesn't give a printout at the time of purchase, or at point of inspection. This info is freely available but many don't check it out.
