today i decided to replace all the clips in my door panels (thanks to the guy who gave me the new clips, i forgot your name but i really appreciate it). while i was doing this i discovered 2 things, 1) the reason why my passenger side mirror wont move when im trying to adjust it is because it wasnt plugged in! i found the male end of the plug but i cant find where to plug it into, somebody please help me.

and the 2nd thing i discovered was the noise coming from the inside of my drivers side door, was...drumroll please... the piece that the window sits in when its all the way down, NOT ATTACHED TO ANYTHING. and its so bent out of shape from being slammed around for god knows how long, that i cant put it back in. this, along with the truck not having a thermostat when i bought it, and 3 different sized tires leads me to believe the guy i bought it from is the stupidest person ive ever met! am i risking breaking the window or anything without this thing in there?

I would try to replace it, shouldnt be hard to find the part at a you pull it junk yard for a couple bucks.. If it's the piece I am thinking of it keeps the window from both lowering past it's limit, and keeps it from sloping around in there while it's down.

yea thats the part, but i mean its better to not have it at all because when it was in there, it wasnt attached to anything. so everytime i shut my door it would slam against the glass and whatever else is in there. but ill talk to some friends who work at a junk yard and see if they can get me one

hmm that's odd that it isn't attached. Is there any signs that it was glued in place and came loose?

doesnt look like it. but the bolt was in there and it seemed like it would be able to be put in if it wasnt so bent so i dont see why someone would glue it.

There should be a connector right there inside the door panel, it's part of the wiring harness that enters the door through the bundle of wires feeding into the door jamb, right there by the door hinges. The power mirror connectors are a round 8-pin plastic connector.
PS It would help if you had the year/model/engine/transmission listed in your profile or in the posting.

oops, sorry, i forgot about that. its a 99 xlt v8, not sure what trans. are you talking about the harness that goes into the panel where the window and lock things are?
