If the water pump is seeping coolant onto the ground you will be loosing coolant and pressure all the time. That needs to get fixed..
You won't get "more" pressure because of that.. and adding air somehow won't give you more pressure either.
I'd say forget about having "too much" pressure in there.. Those rubber temporary freeze plugs never stay in anyway.
