From Japan to America

Just returned to Oregon after about a quarter century in Japan, and decided to purchase a chunk of American steel, a 1994 Explorer, to carry my family on adventures in the great Northwest. I look forward to information sharing on this site. My initial areas of interest are how to smooth out the plywood-like ride of this monster, as well as what tires are best to deal with the unpredictable weather in Portland and the Cascade range.

If you want a smooth ride.. you won't really get it with these trucks. They're.. trucks. Cars ride smooth.
As for tires, anything with good thread and that's snow rated will work.

Welcome to this forum! You're better off looking for tires with a high tread wear rating since cheap tires have a low rating, and won't last that long.
