Hello I am from NC and found this when I was trying to figure out what transmission will work w/ my explorer. Its a 2000 Explorer OHV 2wd. Has roughly 240,000 miles on it now and still going great/ Well except the trans every now and then. Hope to find some useful info here.

4.0 OHV I was looking online at some of the sites that sells rebuilt or reman trans and some are saying 95-01 but others are saying 99-00 and possibly an 01. I am looking at getting a used one that will work and rebuild the other one. That way I am not w/o a vehicle for more that a day or so instead of a week or more.

Look for a 1998, 1999 or 2000 5R55E transmission.
