Hi first time on here. Im wanting to know how to change my 92 explorer from a push button to a short stick on the transfer case. The truck will be mostly driven by my girlfriend so i dont want to put that shiftster in. And dont want to swap transfere cases. thanks

Welcome to the forum. Not much of a choice on this one. I have the shifster on mine and for what it is, it gets the job done. There is a kit which is made by a friend of someone on this site. The member is rededdy, I believe. The kit runs $300 last I heard. Other than switching in a manual shift transfer case, those are about your only options. If you use the search tool you will find all the info you need for this topic and anything else you'll have questions for regarding your ex. Good luck with your truck.

If you're creative, you could rig up a cable & pulley system w/return spring where the shift motor would otherwise go.

Have a lever that pulls the cable, unwinding the pulley, which turns the shaft through 4-HI, N, and finally to 4-LO. Push the lever back, and the return spring winds it back to 2-HI.

Otherwise it's swap cases, a Shifster, or the unit cmhaah06 mentions.
