Front door mounting depth

2 7/8'' mounting depth on some 6.5'' components I want to put in the front doors. I know i can make a plate to fit the 6.5'' on, but I am more concerned about the depth, Will they fit?

Most places like crutchfield say 2 1/2", but I just fit 2 6/8 in the door. If the adapter plate you make is 1/4" wide you will have no problems. After installing two different sets of components my guess is that you have about 3 1/4 inches from window track behind the hole to the back of the factory grill, maybe a little more.

I used 3/4" MDF to make my mounting plate and I have Focal PolyKevlar 165Ks, which are 69mm deep (2.72inches!) And I had no problems with anything hitting anything else!

i had to use 3/4 in MDF for my audiobahns up front as well.... good luck
