Hi guys,

I am currently trying to solve a vibration problem with my 96 xlt.
I have the electric shift borg-warner and I am trying to figure out if it is "normal" for the front drive shaft to be under constant power when in 2wd?

Also...I was wondering just what is the purpose of that little shock asorber that connects to the rear axle?

My vehicle has 150K miles (highway) on it and I have replaced many parts which include: New tires, upper and lower ball joints, new tie rod ends,a new hub assembly,4 new shocks. and of course a front end allingment.

any advise you guys can give me would be appreciated

Thanks: Mike

if your truck is in "true" 2wd, then the front drive shaft should not be under power from the engine/transmission.. however, it is still being turned by the front wheels/differential.

the purpose of the fifth shock that you mentioned is to minimize driveline vibration on the rear.
