'88 bronco II
hey guys, got a stupid question cuz of a stupid mistake. i have an 88 BII, 2.9, mitsu 5spd. i wasnt paying attention when taking off the front driveshaft, now i dont know which way it goes back on. one side has one weight, the other has two weights. if anyone could take a look at their front shaft and see which end has which weights, it would help a lot. thanks

my '88 bll has 1 small round balance weight on each end indexed about 90 degrees apart. i guess it don't matter which way it goes.
if you find it vibrates putting it one way then you'll have to take it apart and switch it the other way. mine has vibrated slightly at hwy speeds since it was new in Oct. '88. after 389,000 kilometers it isn't any worse and i've never switched those u-joints. i'd guess the hubs were locked in about 30% of the time.
i hope this helps.

keep smilin...................t

Mine only has one weight, near the aft end.

My guess is that each DS is individually balanced, not necessarily "matched" front-and-rear....should work either way.
