Hi all, as there is a wealth of knowledge on here that has served me well on all my problems so far with my uk Ex, I was hoping I could get some help with my swaybar ?
After lots of searching and researching I decided to do the bushings on the front sway bar and ordered a set of greaseable energy suspension units. Problem I have is that I have the 36mm bar mounted to the crossmember( vertical), the new brackets don't quite match the oem mounting holes ! Can I do either of the following,
1, cut the bottom bracket hole so it's a slot in order to get the bolts to go into the eom position or,
2, drill out and weld captive nuts/ rivnut the frame so I can mount the sway bar on the frame ( horizontally) like the later design, I'm not sure if the later design used a longer sway bar to get to that position,
And before anyone says to just try and get the brackets changed for correct size done that and got back exactly the same dimensions ? Oh and can't use new bushings in the old brackets as they were falling apart from rust having been here in the uk for 17 years hence changing them so I'm a little stuck right now with the sway bar cable tied up as brackets don't align, sorry for the long post but could do with a quick answer to get this job finished, cheers guy's
