iv'e got a badley worn outer edge on my front left tyre, at first it sounded like maybe a wheel bearing but when I jacked up the front there is a small amount of movement when you pull/push the wheel from top to bottom but nothing side to side ? this would generally discount a bearing as if loose it should have play all the way round, also there is no noise when spinning the wheel freely ? I bought a new hub but we couldn't even get the brake caliper retaining bolts off as some arse has rounded one off  looking down the wheel base the tracking looks out and as i said there is approx 1-2mm movement when you play with the wheel top to bottom, any ideas guys ? track rod end ? upper ball joint, lower ball joint, upper wish bone ? roll bar or sway bar ?
thanks

Upper Control Arm. Easy fix on the passenger side, not so easy on the driver's side. I had to do both last year. Make sure to get quality replacements that you can service & lube. Much good info here in the stickies.

thanks, that would make sense
