Hello all~
I have a 1994 Explorer XL, 2 wd with a 5 speed manual tranny. Problem being, everwhere I read that 15-17 mpg city would be a good average for this truck. It has 135000 miles on it, and the engine is SOLID and reliable, so I figure 15 would be good. However, I'm getting 10-11 city, just cruising around driving sensibly... and my mother has a 5.0L F 150 with all the bells and whistles that gets near better... I have replaced all the emissions parts, plugs and wires, air filter, soon to replace fuel filter... It has new exhaust, and we even did a full fuel system clean on it... So I'm wondering if I could have a bad injector or two? Are there any ways to check them without taking the intake manifold off? If not it's no problem. If I replace all six injectors, would that probably restore my milage and give me some more pep? Anyone have any opinions or ideas to throw my way feel free to respond here or email me at MONKEYDUDE3@cs.com, thanks
I'm always open to try to help with any problems too
take care
George

No, don't go through the trouble of replacing all six injects. With mine, I had to run about 3-4 bottles (not all at one time) of fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank before I noticed a diffence. Give if a try and post.
