Just spent over an hour tring to get that damn fuel filter off to no relief. I got the little tool that push into the line in order to pull away the filter, but the line wouldn't budge. Next stop docs office for hernia check. Tried both ends of filter. Bought my 99 X w/sohc used and looks like original filter with metal retianing clamps. I keep reading that it should take about 10 mins. to do this.

WHAT THE HELL am I doing Wrong?

p.s. It 's windy and about 44 degrees F here if that helps any.

Push the fuel lin in at the same time you push the tool in. If you have the plastic tool, pushing it in with the side of a pliars helps in this awkward position. The more force you use, the harder it will be to take off.

I bought the metal tool from Autozone went home and spent an hour with no luck. Took it back and bought the plasic disc kind and had the job done in 10 min. The metal one was to thick to get inside the fitting.

Try spraying some WD-40 on the fitting and see if that
helps.
