Hi,

My 2006 explorer with a 4L was running fine until yesterday.
I took it for a short drive to the mall, it started fine , no issues.
when leaving the mall, about 15min later, it started fine, but soon after it stated shaking, and no power....
the check engine light came on...
I had it towed to a garage, but since it was late in the day the mechanic said he will take a look at it on monday...
This morning, I went to the garage with my obd2 reader, and it gave me code P191....
I started it and went fine , no shaking....I then cleared the code, took for a test drive and the code didn't come back...
The same thing happened to me 3 years ago, I couldn't start it...left it overnight , and when the mechanic looked at it , he couln't find anything, it started fine , no issues....

A couple of months later of the same year, the same thing happened, I was stuck in a parking lot, couldn't start it....when the tow truck came in, and I explained the problem, he reached under the passenger side, and pushed the fuel cut-off switch!!!!....and it started fine ever since until yesterday.....

I'm wondering if any of you had this kind of issue , and what is the solution

thanks for any replies

regards

So, you're saying that the fuel cut off switch gets activated every few months, even though there has been no accident?

it happened 3 years, ago...and yesterday....no accidents in between....the first guy who reset the switch said that they are very sensitive.....hitting a pothole or slamming the passenger door could trigger it ...not sure what to thing of it....when i checked this morning with my OBD2 reader, all parameters seems to be within range
