Fuel pump issue

I was given a 1993 explorer and it was driven for a while then sat for around a year. I filled it with gas and cranked it but couldent get it to go. I can't hear the fuel pump runing and have checked all fuses and relays. any input would be great

nope no pump actuvity just the check engine light when i turn on the key. I tried hitting the gas tank and filling it up to try to clear the pump but no luck. and no the gas gauge doesn't work. and the switch was allready reset

If the guage doesn't work, then I suspect that would eliminate the FP relay and inertia switch. Check wiring and see if you have power to the tank.
