Functioning center console swap?

In my 96 explorer i have the standard console with the flip up arm rest and cupholders, now previously have 2 2ks i miss having the vents for the rear seats. I could care less about the rear controls (radio, climate) but i want the vents for my son. Is this possble without getting to extensive? would i have to change out the climate control up front? or would it be as simple as throwing it all together and tieing in the duct? thanks in advance

From my understanding when I was researching it a few weeks ago you can easily make the vents functional by hooking it to the floor vents for the short console. It would only work though when the heat/AC was on floor. I couldn't find where anyone had made it work any other way.

Center Console

If you're looking for a full-length console with rear vents, I have one for sale - I bought it to put in my 00 XLS, but realized it would take too much to change the setup to make it worth my while...I bought it on here from another member a few months ago. I leave on a work trip tomorrow and won't be back until Friday, but if you're interested, I can get you pics and a price on Friday!
