I have a 97 Mountaineer auto v8 AWD. It started having trouble when accellerating or going up hills. Felt like it was losing power although engine RPMs didn't fluctuate. I thought the tranny was going because it felt similar to when the clutch is slipping on a manual tranny.

Anyway, my wife the mechanic seems to have (largely, anyway) fixed it with a bottle of gas station fuel injector cleaner (I take it that it wasn't a tranny problem after all). Anyway, what should I do now. It's better, but not perfect. Should I just try another bottle of the addititive or do something different?

Thanks for your advice.

Fixed. It needed plugs.

I don't like your name. I wanted mine to be just plain "Beau", but you took it :( :p
