Gearbox problem. It has a rattle and no reverse.

I boughta explorer today for a bargain price knowing it had a gearbox rattle the gear box was replaced about 16 months ago. It rattles after about 10 minutes of driving when you have removed foot fro accerator. And when you have finished driveing just rattles when you put in reverse.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions & transfer cases section. I would suspect the transfer case in this situation. Check the shift fork & shift rail for cracks.
