gears and limited slip?

I recently purhcased a 94 Explorer XLT 4WD, and I was wondernig how I could tell what the gear ratio is, and whether or not it has a limited slip? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

1st place I would look is the tag on the differential. There will be three numbers at the start of the second line (3 73 for example) This is the gear ratio. If there is an L where the decimal would be, you have an LS carrier, though at this age, the clutches are probably worn out.
