Hi everyone,

I have a 2000 FE V6, not sure what size engine cuz my cable is broke and I don't care to mess with it. I am so frustrated with it. I think it's either a 4.0 or 4.6

Anyway, I am looking at a 97 FE with a V8 5.0 engine. Has everything I want and looks great but I don't want to be too foolish, lol. Do you think the gas differential will be that big of a deal with the 2 additional cyclinders?

I live in the country with big mountains, so I don't have much of that stop and go crap and I really don't travel to the city so I am not to concern with city mileage.

You most certainly do have the 4.0, and anyone I know who has the 5.0 or has done a swap to get it has been happy with it's performance.

The mileage will be virtually the same. Might be slightly better since you may not be working it as hard in the mountain terrain with the V8.
