Hi there I want to replace my interior lights with leds in my explorer. Its just replacing the front dome lights is very complicated and involves removing console from roof and I just don't trust myself to do that and do not want to mark or damage anything. Just wondering do you think I could trust my local ford dealer to replace the lights without doing any damage or is the truck still too new for them to have much experience. Thanks

Do it yourself...you'll probably spend hundreds at the dealer for such an easy job...I'm sure someone with a simaler year will chime in in the morning. The dealer will moat likely only do regular bulbs that they'll also overcharge you for.

There's been tons of things I would have never tried doing myself to my X, but with the help of EF, they were all done easily.

Can anyone explain how to remove the dome light console?
I removed the screws, but didn't go further because I was afraid to break anything.

I got the cover off but couldnt figure out how to get to the bulbs out because they sit off to the sides. I know this is an old thread but has anyone figured this out?

Thank you for this link and your pictures.
