Just fell of the truck this morning...I ordered the damned thing back in december LOL.

I tried to get one last spring but nobody had any and they said they were discontinuing them.

When I get it put on later I'll get a sound clip or quick video and link it in. Stay tuned.

How much and where from? Thanks
I got mine on Amazon...just under 600 shipped.
I wasn't looking for one, had gave up on it, actually (tried to order one about a year ago and several places told me they were out of stock and discontinued), so when it popped up on good ole Amazon, I put it in the cart and bought it.

I was going to put it on yesterday afternoon, but I was down with a sprain. I'll get to it as soon as I'm not hurting so much. I have a hole in my muffler and the tail pipe is also rusty, so adding a cat-back to give it some tone and take away the hillbilly hack sound it has now was an easy choice LOL.

I think there was a magnaflow kit too, but I put one on my Expedition and was a little underwhelmed at how it sounded. It has a great tone, but it's pretty subdued. Not about to gut the cats though. In any case, the tires make more noise at highway speed than the exhaust does, unless I really get on top of the gas pedal.

I put the Gibson cat back on yesterday, thought it would be easy like the Magnaflow install on the Expedition.

That's what I get for thinking. (I don't have a lift).

Had to drop the spare, the hoist and the plastic shield to get the tail pipe on and clamped, had a hell of a time getting the pipe inserted into the muffler under there. But, it sounds alright. Thought it would be a little louder but overall, the sound is ok.

I'll probably go with magnaflow if I ever do another Explorer exhaust, or else just take it to an exhaust shop and have em weld in a Pypes muffler.

I'll try to get a sound clip later, I have to do plugs on the Expy and ball joints on a friend's chevy...so might be busy for a bit. LOL..

Thanks for the info!

I gutted my cats a few days ago, the exhaust volume went up by a slight margin. It's not bad though, certainly not as loud as no exhaust after the cats..

Is the sound somewhat deep or throaty? Any drone?

It's sort of throaty, not deep but not high pitched either. No drone, thankfully. There's a little occasional rattle, I'm not sure if it's still some stuff left inside the cat or some metal on the outside loose, I've not been back under it in awhile. I'll try to get a short video and link back here.

There's also some issue(s) with the engine, thinking a phaser may be on it's way or something else....after about ten seconds of idling, the engine quiets down a bit, almost sounds like a knock, but it's not a rod. Oil pressure is decent, but the thing does have over 200K and I've not been as kind to it as I could've been, but, nor have I treated it like ****. Always have done oil changes and used full syn oil and Motorcraft filters.

I'll report back soon, stay tuned. :)
