I just bought a gibson exhaust. Now these exhausts are are suppose to fit to your original catalytic converter. I didn't install it yet but I just realized that I'm connecting 2 1/2 to 2 1/4. At the Cat. Has anybody had any gasket or flange issues? I see the flange has a oval hole to fit to a smaller or larger size. Im concerned with the gasket if I'm going to have a good seal when installed.

Thanks

Pictures would help but if it's a direct bolt-on cat back system you shouldn't have any problems.

It is a bolt on cat back system. It's just 1/4 in" larger in O.D.

As long as the flange on the pipe that bolt to the cat is the same then you should be good. If you wanted to add a new high flow cat Random Technology makes one that's just one cat instead of two cats and it's 2.5" outlet that would match the exhaust that you bought. Zabteck Technologies sales them as well as the pre-cat delete high-flow y-pipe (I have both on my Trac and they made a huge difference in sound, lower engine temps, performance and some mpg gains). I'll be selling both when I remove the drivetrain from my Trac and install the 351w but I'm thinking that won't be until next spring/ early summer. I'm hoping my custom truck clubs garage gets an opening on the lift this winter, if so then it'll be this winter.
