Is it some rare color? There are tons of explorers in junkyards, though some with better paint than others. Even so, if donor fender is rustless (or "
good enough"), just has a shot clearcoat, you could wet sand then clearcoat it if a polishing wax doesn't do enough.
A fender is $26 at my local U-pick&pull junkyard... seems worthwhile to DIY if you can find one, even if you have to rattle can paint it and it doesn't perfectly match. Then decide whether to keep or sell, but in DIY doing the repair you will probably increase resale value and/or speed in reselling by more than your cost.

appreciated in resale value since covid and other variables increased the used vehicle market pricing.
My local U-pick&pull also has fog lights $9 ea.
Ultimately if you think you can resell for approaching $1K or more with it repaired, which is likely for anything with no substantial driveability problems and a frame that isn't rusted through yet, I'd do it.
Whether or not you just WANT to get a different vehicle (time for a change), is an entirely different matter.
