Looking to pick up subs/amp combo from a friend of a friend. His offer is for 2 infinity kappa 12" subs in a ported Rockford fosgate box with a 650 watt Alpine amp...

Ive Googled the items specifically and because most of the model numbers are discontinued i cant find a price for any of them, but Ive checked similar specs and it looks like a decent deal..

that is; $350 for all of it.

what do you think?

I'd give 200 MAX for all that.

The enclosure is crap...subs are decent as well as the amp.

has anyone bought equipment from craigslist or Kijiji before? I don't want to get a piece of junk that's going to fail after a few months... Thats my only concern

i bought my rockford amp and kicker sub on craiglslist, and am very pleased with it, if you find a set, just see if its installed still so you can see it play, if its not installed and just sittin there do what i did.
i payed the guy half the price at first, then took the stuff home, and installed it, and once i had heard it play and was satisfied i payed him the rest.
i suggested this to him when i bought it and he seemed to think it was a fair deal as did i, so thats a god way to buy used stereo equipment, when your not sure whats its gonna be like

just be careful when working with craigslist. if the person is legit, they should be able to work with your requests to the best of their ability. if they dont wanna show you more pics or show you in real life then that's too shady to deal with imo. if you're sketchy to shop around there...look for stuff local. that way you could pick it up in person since there's no fraud protection or anything like that through craigslist

That does sound like a lot for a craigslist listing.

You could say you're interested in making an offer and would like to meet up to take a look. If they want to sell it, they'll be cool with that.

Beware of people selling old stuff for high prices, they are likely just trying to snag a quick sale from someone with money burning a hole in their pocket and a desire to throw some quick bass in their ride.
