If ya want duals you'll have to do a custom exhaust. If you want a good sounding exhaust and a good performance upgrade go with a Flowmaster. The 40 series you'll give you a good rumble and a horsepower increase you'll can feel.

alright cool, i'm gonna look into those.
thanks!!

i was at first going with an flowmaster too, i heard some explorers with them and i liked it, however i decided to go with an cherry bomb glasspack from Autozone wich runs about 19 bucks...and i like the sound better then an flowmaster , and you can defenatly feel the gain in the bottom end of the truck...

if you are going to do it yourself and you decide to go with an cherry bomb, then cut the old mufler as close to both sides as you can , the glasspack will fit but it's an close one, i had mine done in an mufler shop and it ran me 15 bucks to get it installed, and it took them like 10 minuts where it would have taken me prolly an hour orso...

so you bought a whole new exaust at autozone for 19 dollars and just had a shop put it on for you for 15???? wow! how big is the outlet?
how does it sound???
let me know
i might look into it but i gotta know some more info....
thanks!@!!

I think he just had the muffler replaced, and kept all the stock pipe. If i were you i'd make sure you heard a glasspack on an explorer before you bought one. Just my opinion, but i don't like the sound of a glass pack on anything really, especially anything with less than 8 cylinders. Also...you felt an increase in low end? Generally speaking a higher flowing muffler will actually decrease low end a tad, but give you more top end. I personally don't think chaning your cat back does much of anything but change the sound. For the most part I think the "feel" of extra power just comes from the sound. I have the flowmaster cat back, I like it alot. According to the dyno charts from flowmaster it's suppose to give you like 12 or 15 horse or something...whatever it is you can't much feel it, but it does sound very nice. If you really want dual I'd look through flowmasters catalog and find one with dual outlets and take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld you something up.
