I have a '91 EB with about 175K on it. and I am about to pull an engine form the junkyard to rebuild.
I know that the heads on these engines tend to crack. Mine both cracked at about 125K. The chinese replacement heads I bought were visibly thicker.
Were there any good (not prone to cracking) from Ford? If so, how can I identify them (or aftermarket heads) in the junkyard?

In my opinion the heads aren't REALLY prone to cracking more than any other vehicles with aluminum heads... Its installing or even removing incorrect sequence then they will crack very easily... I wouldn't want the used heads even when taking them off u gotta go by the sequence and putting them on u gotta be very careful or eventually they will crack. Look for the cast iron heads being made for it. Even eBay has them
