Good place for 60000 mile service in OC, CA? What'll they do?

Well, the 98 Explorer (4X4, 4.0 SOHC) needs a 60,000 mile checkup. Can anyone suggest a good dealer or even better, independant shop, in Orange County, CA?

Additionally, can anyone tell me what is typically done at this service interval?

Hello Warr,

Looks like we have the same model and year. I'm not sure what service you'll need @ 60,000 miles,a s ours has 40,000, but I'm sure someone will fill you in from this forum.

As far as a good service place. I have tried many places between Hollywood and San Clemente (we live in both places). We have found San Juan Capistrano Ford to be the most reliable and honest.

I base this on one thing.... We took our Explorer to them for some recall items (the diagnostics computer, the secondary hood latch and something else). When I dropped it off, I told them to take a look at everything and let me know what servicing it needed (possibly opening up a goldmine for them).

Well, they returned my vehicle and stated that it needed nothing at all, but would love to have my future business. In my opinion, that's how a business should be run.

Suffice to say I have returned and always received great service (although they do have those damn dealer prices).
