I plan on getting an 800w Rockford Fosgate amp and I was wondering where a good place to mount it would be? I was thinking of the hole in the wall where the factory sub is, but I was looking at the sub the other day and noticed there was quite a bit o dust all around and on it. Any suggestions?

My amp is mounted back there on a piece on MDF and I have no problems. If its dusty back there clean the dust out!

I don't knwo if there is any difference between the back seats in your 95 and my 91, but I have 2 amps mounted under the rear seat. One of them is a fairly small MTX amp for my sub, and the other is a Rockford 600A4 amp for my door speakers. The latter of the 2 is mounted under the bigger part of the rear seat, and the MTX is under the small part of the seat. The seat can still go down and lock into place, and it is hidden and out of the way, so I like that too. I don't think you could mount a Rockford 800 watt amp (I am assuming it is the 800A2, or the 800A4) behind the rear panel. Those amps are pretty big, I don't even think I would fit my 600A4 back there. Plus you might not get enough air circulated to it to keep it cool, which isn't good for it.

right now i have my amp mounted under my rear seat and i was actually thinking about moving it behind my rear panel where my factory sub should be.

I just mounted mine on the back box. It's out of the way but does get kind of warm but not hot enough to cause any problems. You could also build some kind of amp rack to mount it on.

I would not recomend mounting an amp on the back of a box, unless the box is bolted to the floor. It just makes it too easy to steal. All someone would have to do is cut a few wires and they have a your amp and subs.

That's a temporary place for it right now until I build my amp rack.

Avoid mounting amplifiers on the box whenever possible. the vibration isnt the best thing in the world if you want them to last. in the 4 door there is plenty of room under the rear seat. since i have the 2door i chose to mount my amps and such on a board across the back of the back seats. the back seat is a 50/50 split not a 60/40 like in the 4 door. by using a board i eliminated the split and the seat only fold down as a bench. not a big deal for i rarely fold down the seat (usualy only when i work or change my stereo). you want to place your amps where the will have proper circulation, if it will fit under the seat - cool! a neat, stealth install out of view (especially the view of theiving criminals) i say be creative and unique but neat and simple works just as well. good luck!
