Cliff Notes:
1. Lowered Front of Explorer via Torsion bars to offset massive rear dip from my stereo
2. Went over speed bump in neighboorhood a few times too fast and bottomed out
3. Tranny cooler built into radiator cracked
4. Radiator fluid and Tranny fluid mixed
5. Tranny was being cooled by combination of Radiator coolant and tranny fluid. That = Foamy ****tail and major slippage
6. Engine being cooled by Tranny Fluid and Radiator coolant. That = truck running hotter than normal.
7. Need a new transmission and a new radiator.

Ford already told me about 8K miles ago that my tranny was toast and they wouldn't even do a fluid service on it. Now that this has happened, I'm justr assuming it's utter toast. Time to get a new one.
Anyone have any recommendations of places to order online?
97 4 Door, SOHC, Auto.

Thanks guys... kinda bummed over here.

OK,
well Ford wants 2400.00 just for the tranny, then 70/HR for labor.
There has got to be a cheaper place to get a new 5R55E right?
HELP!!!

Thanks guys,

Check out ford parts network. Ford Parts Network

They have them for under $1800 without shipping. Maybe try an independent shop or see if Ford will match that price. They did that for me a few times on smaller items.
